at Ft. Richardson Alaska National Cemetary.
PFC Jessy Scott Rogers, who was killed in action, July 23rd 2007, while serving with Operation Enduring Freedom USA , 173rd Airborne Combat Brigade, Sarobi Southeastern Afghanistan. He was just one month shy of his 21st birthday. So young, so proud to serve, and our HERO! Each and everyone of The Rogers Clan would like to thank ALL of our brave men and women in uniform, both past and present, who have given so very very much for our FREEDOMS here in this great country of USA. Your sacrafices will absolutely NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!
Not only is this a "tribute" in HONORING Jessys Ultimate Sacrafice for his country, but also a "mothers memoirs" of her sons VERY special LIFE here on earth, and the many memories of his family and friends who shared them with him. Jessy would of wanted everyone to remember the "goodtimes" they had with him...( snowboarding, shooting his 300 Winmag, riding his quad-runner, salmon fishing, and of course playing Xbox live...maybe even remembering some of the bad times too... (I'm sure he's grinning about that one right now!)
Jessys FAVORITE winter pastime was snowboarding. This was taken while he was in Germany, 4 months prior to his being KIA, in Sarobi Southeastern Afghanistan.
We hope and pray that you will find encouragement here...Our "vision" for this website started when I came back from a trip to Washington DC over this past Memorial Day weekend, 2008' . I was able to gather up all the neccessary information needed to get our FIRST Alaska chapter for American Gold Star Mothers started here in our beautiful state. Our "goal" is to reach, and then encourage , as many Gold Star families as possible. In state, and in the lower 48 as well. Our main projects/events, will be helping out with many other military / veterans groups as well. We all need to come together and HONOR our FALLEN HEROS...this is "our families tribute", to our son and brother, "Our fallen hero", PFC Jessy Scott Rogers AND, all the others who have given SO MUCH...Those beloved Soldiers and their families. Please contact us if you are or give your support to...
*Alaskan Gold Star parent / Sibling( those with "fallen" sons or daughters/brothers or sisters) and would like to become a member of this "brandnew chapter" here in the beautiful Matanuska Susitna Valley.
*Gold Star Wives/Children (those with "fallen" Spouses or parents) are also encouraged to contact us for support, as well as...*Blue Star families (those still actively serving), and absolutely ALL of our...
*Silver Star families ( those with loved ones "wounded in action"). Alaskas Govenor Sarah Palin attended our sons memorial services at Ft. Richardson AK..
We are here to encourage and support you and your families. Email us "your personal stories"...We want to HONOR ALL of our soldiers, by "remembering them individually". Their desires, dreams, and their "Ultimate sacrafices" for us all! No soldier will EVER BE FORGOTTEN! The Rogers Clan, "thanks you" for your service...and please continue to Support Our Troops!
